A Maryland native and graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Dr. Lauren Halvorson completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD and fellowship in Gastroenterology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Halvorson has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, presentations and abstracts on the topics of capsule endoscopy, biliary obstruction and colonoscopy. She is a current Diplomate of the American College of Gastroenterology and former Diplomate of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Halvorson sees patients with a wide variety of digestive health issues and has a special interest in women’s digestive health, inflammatory bowel disease and esophageal disorders.
Outside the office, Dr. Halvorson enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children as well as painting, traveling and cooking.
